My favorite tea during pregnancy
Yay, you're pregnant! We warmly congratulate you on your pregnancy! So much new that is coming to you.
The body, hormones and everyday life change and bring with them a new, exciting and intense time, which can also lead to pregnancy problems.
And it is precisely for these reasons that we at myEphelia chose this recipe.
Would you like to support yourself optimally during this time and do something for your body, your child and your soul? Then we recommend this wonderful tea to you.
Our pregnancy tea is not just a tea that harmonizes and tastes good. It is important to us at myEphelia to be able to offer you adequate and high-quality support during pregnancy with the wealth of positive properties of the individual ingredients.
Our teas have been carefully put together according to our co-founder and midwife Meike's own recipe in collaboration with other midwives.
Thanks to the mild note of lemon balm and lemongrass, we were able to reduce the dominant taste of the other miracle herbs. This tea is not only mild and deliciously refreshing, but also accompanies you through your pregnancy with your special needs.
You can find out what needs these may be under the next point.
Lavender flowers:
Lavender has been used as a medicinal plant since the Middle Ages and is now also an approved medicine. The purple-blue intensely scented plant contains many active ingredients with healing and relaxing properties.
These are particularly beneficial for women during pregnancy, which is why you can also find this ingredient in our pregnancy tea.
Lavender is said to have the following positive properties:
🌿 Sleep-promoting
🌿 Relaxing
🌿 Help with inner restlessness
🌿 Help with headaches
🌿 Promotes blood circulation
🌿 Antispasmodic
🌿 Digestive
Nettle leaves:
The nettle is a valuable, often underestimated medicinal plant, a real bacterial brake and nutrient bomb.
The unpleasant effect of the nettle hairs is counteracted by drying the above-ground parts of the plant for making tea. This means that the nettle loses its irritating effect.
Nettle leaves are said to have the following positive properties:
🌿 Metabolism stimulating
🌿 Help with liver and bile detoxification
🌿 Pain and inflammation relieving
🌿 Diuretic
🌿 Relief from stomach and menstrual problems
🌿 Lowers blood pressure
🌿 Immune boosting
🌿 Detoxifying
Johannis herbs:
St. John's wort was already used as a medicinal plant in ancient times. It is a well-known remedy for strengthening nerves and for inner restlessness. If you didn't know yet: St. John's wort can also reverse the effect of the pill.
St. John's wort is said to have the following positive properties:
🌿 Sleep-promoting
🌿 Calming nerves
🌿 Mood-enhancing
🌿 Relief from nervous restlessness
🌿 Inhibition of viruses and bacteria
Marigold flowers:
Calendula supports wound healing both internally and externally. Most people probably remember her from grandma's marigold ointment. Even today it is still used in many areas. Nowadays it is more commonly known as Calendula.
Due to its antioxidant properties, marigold is probably one of the best-known medicinal plants worldwide, which is why it is an integral part of all of our teas.
Marigold flowers are said to have the following positive properties:
🌿 Support cell renewal
🌿 Wound healing
🌿 Help with menstrual cramps
🌿 Promotes the stomach and intestinal tract
🌿 Anti-inflammatory
🌿 Antioxidant
Please note that there are no scientific studies for one or the other effect, but years of observation, particularly in work with pregnant women and women who have recently given birth, show these effects.
Melissa leaves:
On the one hand, lemon balm leaves bring a pleasant taste to the tea, and on the other hand, lemon balm leaves are also said to have a number of positive effects. Lemon balm essential oil in particular contains a complex mixture of healing ingredients.
Melissa leaves are said to have the following positive properties:

Lemongrass:
This plant is considered and highly valued as a medicinal plant in many Asian countries.
Lemongrass not only has a wonderfully lemony, fresh taste, but according to my personal experience as a midwife, it can also help with nausea.
Lemongrass is also said to have a balancing effect on the human psyche.
Lemongrass is said to have the following positive properties:
🌿 Antibacterial
🌿 Antifungal
🌿 Anti-inflammatory
🌿 Antioxidant
🌿 Balancing cholesterol and blood sugar
🌿 Calming
🌿 Pain relieving
🌿 Antispasmodic
🌿 Relief from nausea
Lady's mantle herb:
As the name suggests, lady's mantle is the herb for women. The name comes from the fact that the leaves resemble a woman's flowing coat. It has been used as a medicinal plant since the Middle Ages, primarily for women's ailments.
Lady's mantle is said to have the following positive properties:
🌿 Positive influence on cycle regulation in the female hormonal balance
🌿 Help with building and caring for the uterine lining
🌿 Pelvic floor strengthening
🌿 Promoting the healing process
🌿 Help with menstrual cramps
🌿 Help with premenstrual mood swings
🌿 Support for fertility problems
🌿 Support for additional bleeding and menopausal symptoms
Spearmint:
Spearmint is often confused with peppermint. However, it does not contain menthol and does not taste spicy, but rather has a fresh sweetness. Spearmint is sometimes referred to as lady's mint. Its English name is much better known: Spearmint.
In addition to cooking, spearmint is also used in many different ways in herbal medicine.
Spearmint is said to have the following positive properties:
🌿 Antiseptic
🌿 Flatulence reliever
🌿 Promotes blood circulation
